Come next Saturday (6/1) is the crazy “run-the-loop” full #marathon#race held at #UniversityOfWashington’s historic #DrumhellerFountain: one loop is 192.37 meters, so the full course requires running 219 loops! Race starts at 5:30am 😟 and we're supposed to flip the direction every hour!
Going to re-up this tomorrow, but does anybody want to do a pre-race dap-up/family photo at the #ottawaraceweekend on Sunday? Dunno why but I feel a kinship for all the randos I see on here running our asses off lol. #running#ottawa#marathon

#Ottawa#Marathon is in 8 days! I feel ready, but I'm still worried.
I'm not sure my taper is long enough. I feel the accumulated fatigue still.
I'm really not heat-adapted yet (way too early in the season). I hope it's not going to be suddenly 25/30°C...
I don't know if air quality will be affected by the fires (it looks possible)
Still... my fitness seems good enough! #running
My dear #running / #trailrunning friends: I need to ask for advise on picking #shoes for #marathon runs on paved roads and mildly unpaved trails (photo 1):
ASICS Trabuco Max 2 (photo 2): the middle in weight (~290g), not waterproof. Bouncy w/ rocker design.
Salomon Speedcross 5 (photo 3): the heaviest (~295g), waterproof(?). Big lugs.
It is really different from previous years, where it would venture into Gatineau (Qc). I heard an interview where an organizer mentioned it was a source of pride: it was the only Canadian marathon to cross provincial borders.
Now it stays in Ottawa and there are 2 180° turns. I'm not sure I like it. Could be resistance to change, I had already started visualizing the old course...
For someone trying to #run longer distances (I can do 10K in an hour but I want to run a half marathon), should I be aiming for a particular step cadence or ground contact time?
Currently #running slowly doing base runs and mixing in some sprints/threshold runs. Cadence is usually around 165-175 steps/min now.
London'a famous Marathon is happening this weekend and it wouldn't be the nation's favourite social event without a healthy dose of fancy dress.
People are even dressing up in animals costumes.
"The 37th Annual Big Sur International Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, April 28th, will be re-routed to a mostly out-and-back course along Highway 1 due to a slip-out on the course after a rainy winter on California’s Central Coast."
Wasn’t aiming for a half-marathon today, but it kinda happened. I did not feel as exhausted as the last time I did a 21K, so I am guessing, the slow HR training must be paying off. At the end, I felt like I could probably go on for another 5-6K, but I’m not even remotely ready for an entire marathon.
I guess, you never are until you tried. I mean, unlike solo workouts, there’s the adrenaline and the crowd spirit that easily add another 5-10K.
