Today I was wandering the woods and stumbled upon the surreptious bloom of bloodroot, Sanguinaria canadensis.

There is much folklore, Native American historical uses, and purposed medicinal information (some quite dangerous) floating around about this plant.

In our general area, southern Indiana/western Kentucky, it sprouts mid-march, blooming for only a day or two in the same month, leaving the greenery to grow the rest of the warm season.

We had our Spring Equinox event last night.

We each picked an element to work with over the incoming year and painted eggs to symbolize what we want to nurture more of in our lives.

Is anyone else super excited for the two cicada broods to emerge?

Imagine the energy in that!

My hexing group is meeting on April 6th to practice raising and pushing energy in a cone of power. We've done this on multiple occasions, but I wanted to switch things up this month and have them focus on elemental energy.

We will do a short, guided, meditation for each of the four main elements. They will write for 4-5 minutes on their meditation and what connections, or interruptions they feel.

Afterwards, we are going to focus on raising specific types of energy by focusing on one element and its attributes while we raise our cone.

I don't know.

I'd prolly touch it.

The Witches Chair from the Mermaid Inn, Rye, East Sussex.
Judith Blincow the owner of the Inn has this to say about it, ‘It is a seventeenth century chair which used to belong to a witches’ coven and has a curse on it.’ We always tell people not to touch it.’

Witches and that sort,

Can we talk about burnout and/or boredom in the craft?

It feels like I haven't been expanding myself lately. I spend a good bit of time preparing events for our community every month with three other members. Our paths are all different so we take turns leading the events. I partially started doing this thinking I would find others who follow a similar path to mine and we could do group work together (not as a coven but as a circle).

anyone going?

I went in 2020 and would like to go back this year. They had cancelled the festival but I still went and camped by myself. It was beautiful there.

I did get creeped out because I heard something huge splash behind me in the swamp!

Eastern Cemetery in Louisville, Ky has a dark history. They were found burying people ON TOP of other people. Bones were found all over the cemetery, the office, in the vehicles.

I've visited several times. There is a doc about it called Facing East.

The guy who came to fix the security system control on my office door just asked me if I watched the Taylor Swift Bowl last night.

I can't believe people are this upset over a celebrity being at a ball game. 😂

Does anyone else live in an area with high nitrate contaminants in the tap water and how do you filter this?

I'm currently having to refill my 5 gal jugs in the city because the runoff from fields is so bad.

We are once again on a nitrate alert. Then they try to say "unsafe for pets, small children, and elderly" but "safe for adults".

In your opinion, did Fritz Lang ever make what you would consider a bad movie?

If so, why?

If so, how do I get in?

Is it worth buying the season for $20?

Currently listening to the below and I'm wondering have we reached the end of zombies. Can there be anything new or are we just recirculating the same group dynamics in different places?

David Moody's Autumn series was different in the first book because of the way the bodies changed. It lended some eeriness that people walked around, feeling like rapture had happened for several days, then slowly, zombie automation started.

Then The Last of Us with a fungi virus was different.

But have zombies reached the end? Is there anything new?
