Twitter used to have an Explain The Joke account that you could tag in the replies if you didnโt get a post, but Mastodon has a volunteer corps that proactively offers the same service.
@MissingThePt Thatโs a funny joke, because โproactivelyโ implies that responding to explain the joke is not necessary and may not even be welcome!
@MissingThePt This is so even with classic search engines. Maybe to a lesser degree. One can look something up that was forgotten, or refresh one's knowledge about an already known subject. But relying on any search engine information (aside from first tier science journals) is relying on probable misinformation, even if it is just accidentally.
Chief Justice Roberts asks Justice Alito if, during Supreme Court arguments involving the 2021 attempted insurrection, he could at least not wear his โI โค๏ธJan 6โ pin. https://wapo.st/44YkKhH
@MissingThePt Iโm glad Senators Durbin and Whitehouse wrote the letter and theyโre attempting to meet w/ Chief Justice Roberts. Roberts hasnโt responded and I donโt have hope he will. For decades, Roberts was a foot soldier in the war to weaken and destroy the Voting Rights Act. He claimed America had made such strides toward erasing racism that people of color didnโt need protections any longer. That was a cover to make people think he was a good guy moderate. He is not.
Microsoftโs rollout of the Copilot+ feature screenshotting your virtual activity has been met with dismay, but itโs still more popular than the companyโs original Copilot, a guy standing behind you and taking pictures of your screen with his phone, silent except for his heavy breathing.
