@michael_w_busch @ai6yr we used to do that with our drills, especially Fall Basic. We don't do it anymore. We participated in an EMSA drill recently and folks were required to un-moulage before leaving the drill site.

Why?

The last drill they did? They let people leave "made-up" and somebody got into a car accident, was unconscious and the responding medics had difficulty sorting out the real wounds from the fake ones; thus delaying care.

Hi. Quick break from the posting for a serious PSA.

Please have a bottle of aspirin in your home. Make sure the tablets can be chewed as well as just swallowed. Make sure you remove any fiddly foil seal and such. Don't use this aspirin for regular pain relief, just keep it around and know where it is.

Hopefully, you'll never need it and will just feel silly for having it. But if a bad time comes for you someday, being able to chew aspirin when emergency services tells you may save your life.

you have to be careful with stroke. Basically there are two types of stroke:
ischemic or blood clot in the brain, for which anti coagulants like TPA are used.

However the other cause of stroke is hemorrhagic - which means a burst blood vessel of some sort - in this case you don't want anticoagulants.

(hint: if you truly want to celebrate your mother, do what we always did for my mom, and do the buffet the week BEFORE or the week AFTER, when the buffet is better and you don't have crowds; I also used to go to the chocolate/flower stores the DAY AFTER and had gotten flowers for 90% off and chocolates for 50-75% off... 😉

crews are ramping up for summer.

Dozers and Air Ops are ramping up and getting checked off on their certs & quals for the season... there's been a lot of interagency trainings and what not going over the past few weeks.

kripes, when I was teaching full classes and had kids with names like April, May, or June I'd want to take an axe to the databases and spread sheets. M$ works didn't care how many times I would set the document to "text only" it still would take April's name and turn it into some weird gibberish

and wonderful to discover after you'd printed out labels or other documents.

I used to print out a sheet of labels with all the kids names as a way to keep track of who had done a particular project. (do the project put the name label on it)
Seeing something like:

on 25 sheets of labels was such a thrill 🙄
