Getting my life back in order post-move. May need to get a small table for the kitchen for the 3d print curing, but I can pretty easily fit the printer itself into the hobby room, along with a corsi-rosenthal box.

Earlier today, King Charles III revealed his first official portrait since his coronation in May 2023.

The painting, by artist Jonathan Yeo, was commissioned in 2020 when the King was still Prince of Wales.

These are two of the good plastic minis they used to make. Decent detail, and the model number stamped on the front. I'm going to try the modeling tool to get the last of the paint off, but after that...

My original intent was to leave them as-is except for basing them, so they looked like a statue of a mech standing in a park.

I may have to change that plan if I need to prime them.

Anyone else ever get the feeling you're being gaslit and or the butt of jokes, kept around by the in-group because you won't realize?

It's just a bunch of things that crop up when people spin narratives describing their inner experiences, motivations, sensations, etc. IDK.

Like, I don't think it's literally actually happening, I don't think I matter enough people would bother, but... so much stuff where it feels like I Don't Get It.

the discussion by @enfors and @kensanata about maps and river reminded me of this: the Thunder Rift setting for Basic #dnd, published in 1992.

It's a beautiful map, and the setting is trying to be good for starting characters with lots of different environments.

And then you start looking at the details in both the text and the map and you notice that

1. the geography doesn't make sense (try to figure out the rivers)
2. the setting is way too small for the given background

ordered chinese for lunch and it's the weirdest szechuan chicken I have ever seen: basically just breaded and fried chicken pieces, with a few red bell peppers strewn in for good measure.

at the same time they must have used some sort of other capsaicine spice on it, but the only way I notice it is because it's numbing my tongue. it's like eating a really spicy chili, except that it's missing the spicy part and goes straight to the numbing. weird.

Skull Company posed on a battle mat before game, just to get a shot of them all together, followed by a shot of our three way game that ensued, at 300 points each, on two neoprene mats (equivalent of 4 map sheets)

My C3I skull l2 with a phoenix hawk LAM vs a Davion C3 force, vs the base defender's ECM and flak heavy force.

Forced retreat on, in the end the defender won by default, as nobody could really contest any better than he could defend.
