These are two of the good plastic minis they used to make. Decent detail, and the model number stamped on the front. I'm going to try the modeling tool to get the last of the paint off, but after that...
My original intent was to leave them as-is except for basing them, so they looked like a statue of a mech standing in a park.
I may have to change that plan if I need to prime them.
Skull Company posed on a battle mat before game, just to get a shot of them all together, followed by a shot of our three way game that ensued, at 300 points each, on two neoprene mats (equivalent of 4 map sheets)
My C3I skull l2 with a phoenix hawk LAM vs a Davion C3 force, vs the base defender's ECM and flak heavy force.
Forced retreat on, in the end the defender won by default, as nobody could really contest any better than he could defend.
I love this cover of My Boyfriend Is A Pilot by Ali Project from Macross the Tribute (that sentence alone is the stuff that 13 year old me's dreams were made of)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmwZ1BvB8W4
Fans of Macross will be pleased to hear that they will soon be able to watch almost all of the franchise on Disney+. Arguably the most influential mecha anime series of all time, the Macross franchise includes movies, television series, OVA (original video animation) series, music videos, and even a short. Though two elements of...
Now this robot is almost fully dressed! Need to even out a stripe or two and then it's ready for decals and basing, and I can move on to the nextt mech.
This is a really good consideration of Carl Macek and #anime in NorthAm. It makes a fundamental point: I may think that SDF #Macross is better than the Robotech Macross Saga, but I wouldn't know what SDF Macross was without Robotech, and it's likely that any other attempt to bring Macross over would have been less interesting and more westernized.
I didn't get to see SDF Macross until the AnimEigo DVD release, and all the things that lead up to that probably don't happen without Robotech existing in the first place.
Carl Macek did the best he could with what was available to him.
The idol showcase at Northeast ComicCon yesterday was a lot of fun! :AquaYeah: There were a lot of amazing performances! And I think my own performance went pretty well. :mexcitedmiku: (I may have gotten a few more people to watch Macross too. :akko_giggle: )

Today, February 7, in 2009, is the date of the maiden voyage for the repaired Super Dimension Fortress Macross (SDF-1). When the ship's main cannon fires on its own, it destroys an alien spacecraft in orbit, setting off Space War I (The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, 1982)
Little one had birthday and got his own #Macross#SDF. Something is off though.. I mean I don't get why they launch dogs with their catapults but that's probably just some modern thing I don't understand any more 😜
It's very strange that when Googling the mercats (sea cats?) from Macross Delta, people somehow post that ウミネコ umi-neko is a nickname for seagulls in Japanese, and tHEre aRE nO SEaGuLls in the show..? Attached: seagulls in Macross Delta. :meowthinking:
Is this some kind of Mandela effect? The thing where there's somehow a collective false memory that keeps getting repeated.
A few clips from a game jam project, where I attempted to recreate the Itano circus, or "missile mircus" in a spaceship game.
Basically, these are a bunch of intentionally wonky homing missiles with trails, so visually it sometimes comes close to the barrages of missiles we see in anime like Macross. (i.e. 90% of the shots don't hit but explode next to their target)
It’s technically a new day and I’m still awake so I get to post this. I’ve been listening to a lot of music from Macross lately so it’s not surprising this is the first song to pop into my head. https://youtu.be/gBiz-G8_PFE
#JMusicFriday is doing #AnimeEndings, so I will once again point people to the Mari Iijima version of "Runner" from the last episode of Super Dimension Fortress #Macross (the other episodes are Makoto Fujiwara). A very fitting send-off to the show.
Did some test assembly today. Running out of buttons. I have to salvage my version 1 now which kinda sucks because I won’t be able to actually play with it any more 😆 Still very happy with the result 👌
