Does anyone else have trouble doing one thing at a time? Like if I'm doing chores it helps to have a podcast or talk to someone, or watching TV, I need to do something with my hands, like a little handy craft, or a simple game. I love movies, but the movie has to be absolutely fascinating for me to want to go to a theater where I just need to sit there and watch. I have a large amount of tabs open on my phone all the time and I flit back and forth through a bunch of different things. Weed helps calm this down a bit.

@RickiTarr I struggle to work on my computer even without any distractions (radio etc.). apart from the computer (and what it can simultaneously do) itself. Reading this thread it has just occurred to me: maybe actually have a distraction - as a kind of ‘dither’ (in the digital audio sense) and that might help my brain be just distracted enough not to be distracted …

To anyone who has been wondering what I’ve been up to over the last few days, this is it. New Mac Studio and unfeasibly wide monitor. Lots of setting up, checking compatibility of apps., plugins, hubs and drivers suitable for OS Sonoma.

TB4, TB2, CAT-5, USB (all flavours) & FW800/400 etc..

My brain is already fried.

Any Pro Tools users out there who can answer this?

I have a Mac Studio M2 Max with Sonoma 14.3 and Pro Tools 2023.12 (I think), using iMac’s Time m/c drive.

PT works well in spite of not being ‘qualified’ to run in Sonoma yet but none of my plugins appear in the plug-in insert menu on a track. PT’s plugs - that were included in the download - and plugs I’ve downloaded since do. I’ve tried repairing permissions etc (using Mac Cleaner) to no avail. Is there a way to ‘force’ PT to recognise them?

@JackTheCat @DigitalTaoist Debatable! I like some jazz genres, namely jazz-rock, jazz fusion or jazz funk (eg Hancock, Corea) but certainly not modern jazz or ‘no-note’ jazz as I call it. I used to record the live gigs for Radio 3’s Jazz on 3. Some of those were really out there!
