I will totally use a vegetable peeler to shave oyster mushrooms to look like noodles, and feed them to my kids who literally had no idea. 11 and 7 ate them with spaghetti sauce and just thought they were wide noodles.

7 is home sick and watching the star wars trilogy for the first time. He just came up to explain the plot of Empire Strikes Back to me and it was just every thing.

He's just told me:

Darth Vader is really dead or just a brain with a cyborg body. AND Luke's father is dead. And he said LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER. But he can't be Luke's father cause in the last movie his father was dead.

I may or may not explain this to him.

Two of my boys have gone to friend's houses. The third is about to leave. Really thinking about calling one of hub's buddies so he can go to their house on a play date too, and I can have the house to myself.

@RickiTarr mallorcas, whole wheat, cinnamon buns (hey... Buns are bread right?) sandwich bread, sourdough, and biscuits (yes i got lazy and cut them with a dough cutter into squares. Better to hold egg sandos that way)

If you really think about it... Doesn't it seem kinda bat shit crazy that we have trucks driving through suburban US neighborhoods for the sole purpose of selling soft serve and ice cream novelties to wee people with little disposable income? I mean, this just sounds like an awful enterprise. How do you pitch this business plan?

I'm sick today and couldn't decide between chicken noodle soup or curry for lunch so made some unholy amalgamation of the two and it's just everything right now. It's spicy, gingery, chicken-y, coconut-y. All I know is I'm breathing through my nose right now and managed to use up some more of the massive amount of Thai chilis in my fridge.

@DemocracySpot thanks. I was literally like what's supposed to be good if you're sick? And then threw in chilis, onion, garlic, lemongrass, chicken broth, turmeric, a bunch of veggies. Hit it with coconut milk and lime juice right after it came off the heat. Took all of 20 minutes to make.

I'll let you know if I die, but if I do I'll die happy.

@DemocracySpot it's not true about misses, tho. My enemy is hash browns. I've never successfully made them from scratch. Like it's just fucking potatoes. How can I fail every time? Once it was so bad I threw them out with the pan. So, yeah. Ask me to cook anything except hash browns. They are my culinary nemesis.

@mentallyalex actually... I've been making bowls out sushi rice and topping it with the imitation crab, cucumbers, avocado, Sriracha, kewpie, furikake, and crumbled up seaweed. It's like deconstructed sushi.

Missed connection.

It was 11:40pm at the Wawa. I was in pink pajama pants and a ratty t-shirt that read 2001 Bowlaganza getting a gallon of milk and a chai tea smoothie. You were in your car burning a roach whilst eating ice cream. Our eyes met for only seconds, but I could tell we both had ceased to give any fucks.

@Alice we were just sold 4 years ago... Now sold again. Apparently, no immediate impact to us. The new parent company is not in the US and is market adjacent to what we do... So, they want us to become their US HQ while still offering the applications/services we do now as they are complimentary to their stuff. Could be worse.
