I live in Sir Gaerfyrddin with my wife, our son (some of the time), two spaniels, and the World's loudest Tonkinese cat. I have lost count of our computers.

Deep joy. Greedy RealVNC is taking away the ability to use more than three copies of it at home, free. I shall, of course, switch to TightVNC. I expect they thought aged hobbyists had loads of money they could grab...

As a person who HAS succesfully organised two pissups in breweries, I mock the useless Tories, and their predecessors, for the outright mess they have made of the Post Office.

The PO was started so that the government could intercept mail to anyone they thought was suspicious, which is why postcards were cheaper to send than sealed letters. I don't suppose they have stopped providing that service for the spooks. A Czech billionaire can be trusted with our security, surely?

I got the breweries concerned to pay for us to drink their booze.

Someone should probably tell Rishi Sunak that if he seriously believes that young people are being radicalised, teaching them how to shoot modern weapons might not have the outcome he thinks it will.

I remember how delighted I was in 1960, when the previous National Service scheme was stopped. One of the big worries then was that it turned layabouts into disciplined revolutionaries who hated the government, and knew how to use guns...

NO. If you means some managers in a ‘reformed system’, instigated by the Tories and pushed hard by Labour maybe. What will increased privatisation do?

Back from holiday, to find this one getting ready to flower again. It seems to be suffering from "cactile dysfunction". I'm wondering if it's actually the way this species normally grows.

Close up shot of the top end of the cactus, showing red flowers opening, and more on the way.

For some reason I'm reminded of this famous exchange between Dennis Skinner & the Speaker of the House:

Speaker: 'Please retract'

DS: 'OK, half the Tories opposite aren't crooks'

Nowadays one might quibble with Skinner's proportions, but the message stands....

Hello, I am a new startup!

I’m funded by venture capital and free to use.

Please come and make me valuable by using me. Make my numbers go up!

Once you do, I’ll have everything I need and I can do whatever I want with the time and effort you’ve put into making me successful.

Not happy? Fuck you, I don’t need you anymore (network effects FTW, amirite?)… I’m laughing all the way to the bank.

Goodbye!
