For some reason I'm reminded of this famous exchange between Dennis Skinner & the Speaker of the House:

DS: 'Half the Tories opposite are crooks'

Speaker: 'Please retract'

DS: 'OK, half the Tories opposite aren't crooks'

Nowadays one might quibble with Skinner's proportions, but the message stands....

I’m funded by venture capital and free to use.

Please come and make me valuable by using me. Make my numbers go up!

Once you do, I’ll have everything I need and I can do whatever I want with the time and effort you’ve put into making me successful.

Not happy? Fuck you, I don’t need you anymore (network effects FTW, amirite?)… I’m laughing all the way to the bank.

Goodbye!

The introduction to the Taxing Wealth Report 2024 https://www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2024/03/20/the-introduction-to-the-taxing-wealth-report-2024/. The Taxing Wealth Report 2024 is now complete, at least in draft. This is the final stage. The introduction explains what the whole thing is about - and that the austerity that Rachel Reeves is planning is totally unnecessary. All the money needed to transform the UK is available. As a result I have to assume Labour wants things to stay as they are.

Walrus,

I think there needs to be more notice taken of the distinction between the latest little group that has taken control of the Labour Party, and the much more socialist members of the party.

I don't quite go so far down the "infiltrators stealing a party" conspiracy line as some, but Starmer doesn't appear to be anything to do with the party that he has clambered to the top of.

I think Kinnock was entirely right about entryists, but I'm unsure if he was one, too.
