The situation in is as unclear to me as the bottom of a samovar. It was obvious that Prigozhin would head first for Roston-on-Don, the key Russian army headquarters.

But all night long there's been scraps of news about activity in the area of Voronezh/Lipetsk (which, if you take a look at a map, is halfway up to Moscow).

Lipetsk was put under emergency regulations. The M4 highway was blocked north of Voronezh. Now there's info on military activity in the area.

Has Prigozhin launched 2 attack vectors with under 50.000 men at his disposal? Or are there other Russian units aside from the group also rebelling? I'm wildly speculating here.

The use of the Imperial system of units in the US makes reading news reports on from the Old Continent sound like ciphers, messages from some different planet. It also gives me migraine.

I've long given up travel as a leisure activity. The reasons are a combination of the 2008 economic meltdown, lack of time, and a growing repulsion towards tourism in general.

For me, travel is usually work-related, and I'm lucky that work takes me to interesting places. Next month, I'll be visiting the villages of Nuñomoral and Martilandrán in the Estremaduran region of Las Hurdes, Spain. I'll be joining the Imago Bubo rural art collective in their Caravana de Cine project, facilitating audiovisual workshops with local communities. Life can be good, you know.

One thing I've learned since I joined the is that favoriting posts is not enough. You see, there's no algorithm at work here, so a fav doesn't do much.

No, boosts are not enough either. They simply clutter the TL.

To interact effectively with posts here, you need to go to a window, open it, and read out the toots in your TL at the top of your voice, one by one. Screaming if necessary.

Now that's some proper interaction.

Around this time last year, the Center for Deep Listening launched A Year of Deep Listening, a call for Deep Listening scores in homage to Pauline Oliveros. I decided to take part, and eventually sent in not one, but ten scores - and then I just kept writing more. (Rather predictably in my case, all of them turned out to be soundwalking scores). I was also very pleased when one of them - Ariadne Soundwalk - was selected for A Year of Deep Listening.

Martin Luther had a thing for popular 16th-century humour, and was prone to referring to Pope Pope Paul III as an ass. He also referred to the Pope emitting flatulences out of their donkey, I mean, ass, calling them "pope fart-ass". This 16th-century illustration from a Lutheran tract illustrates the idea.

And before you ask, yes, the figure seen here is rather exaggeratedly feminine. Luther also liked referring to the Pope as "Her Sodomitical Hellishness Pope Paula". But this is enough ass for you today - go do your own research!
