Just remembered that the only way I manage to not become completely untethered post vernal equinox is to make heavy use of my blackout curtains to enforce a false night / Fools Evening.

rn, cos I don't even have work to schedule my day, I'm even more lost. Between 2pm and sunset is The Long Hour

@purplepadma when I first started closing the curtains around 7ish I felt like such a weirdo, especially around midsummer when it's still blazing daylight. But I'm so sensitive to light levels... And if I'm on my own I can just put in my noise cancelling headphones and leave the world outside. I get up at 5:30, I can't be up too late!

(Tho I am right now! Binge watching 👀)

Am suddenly ill with a cold, and the fever means I'm not sleeping, so I had a Xanax to help.

But ofc I'm not swallowing properly, so over an hour later I got up and crushed another pill into powder and mixed it with water.

I am no longer a chem fuelled party boy and only drink about once every 6 weeks, I refuse to believe I have this much tolerance for GABA-A agonists. Probably both pills are gonna hit at the same time and I'm gonna be lights out until mid afternoon 🙃

incredibly niche “AI art” kvetch but in a past life I worked for a university with strong Fine Arts and Health Sciences divisions that used those strengths to support an advanced Medical and Scientific Illustration program — an extremely important skill because no photograph or imaging can possibly do what illustration can in illuminating how biological systems work — and these artists’ immense scientific and artistic skill can simply not be preëmpted by some shit the computer farts up

Anyone got any suggestions for a mid-range laptop with solid build quality?

I should really replace my decade+ old MacBook air. If I was feeling flush I'd get another MacBook, but tbh I don't really need OSX and would like a solid little Linux guy. Is there such a thing as a mid-range $laptop with brushed aluminum body, or am I asking for the moon on a stick? Bonus points if it's just a little dude. My MacBook is 11" and I adore it.
