I was thinking of doing an, "I drink of my sisters" event, like in The Craft.

We would do a full circle and everyone would bring something to symbolize what they want/need to bring into their lives. We take a bottle around, fill everyone's cups when it's their turn, and we all listen and witness what they want to manifest. Party afterwards.

Thoughts become words become actions so saying it out loud often helps us commit.

What do you think?

I've uncovered more information about Nanny Morgan! I'm just trying to dig a bit deeper now, but I'm definitely in need of a rewrite! It makes me so happy to add more depth to her story!

Ann Morgan's story highlights the importance of honouring historical legacies in folkloric narratives. I believe it's time for the woman behind the witch to be remembered. Let's celebrate her for all of her intricacies.

Anyone know of any good witchcraft/conjure shops in Indianapolis?

I've been to 3 Crows Conjure and The Magick Candle.

Looking less for new age metaphysical stuff and more for witchcraft items. (less crystals and more herbs and candles).

QUESTION: Is there a gay pagan group on Mastodon that you can join, where you can find newbies and more experienced people in their crafts to chat with and learn from? If not, then there needs to be.

Witches and that sort,

Let's discuss necromancy and geomancy.

We are discussing definition 1 of necromancy and definition 2 of geomancy. (see attached images)

Do you believe the actual spirit of the undead is brought out of its state to communion with the necromancer against its will? Necromancy differs from regular mediumship because with medium ship are are asking for info or opening up to receive, and with necromancy, you are doing a ritual to bring them.

Dictionary Defiitons from Oxford Languages. Geomancy. Noun. 1. the art of placing or arranging buildings or other sites auspiciously. 2. divination from configurations seen in a handful of earth thrown on the ground, or by interpreting lines or textures on the ground.

It's okay if you don't come from a long line of witches.
Take pride in being the first in your family. Keep good notes for your kids, nieces & nephews, second cousin's weirdo kid.
Start your own family traditions.
Get your portrait painted in full witchy garb. Scan and donate your spells to the library.

Here's the pamphlet we are handing out at the Witches' Walk in the Woods if anyone wants to peruse.

So I'm just livid. Yesterday, someone from the DNR contacted me to inquire about our Walk in the Woods for witches & he said, "Cutting down plants and removing them from the woods is illegal." I was like, "What? We aren't doing that."

Now I'm jumping through hoops, sending pamphlets that we're handing out to this guy so he can "approve" our walk in the woods after we've already rented a shelter.

I keep a box with long-term spells in it. I have written a short blog about this:
https://cavorta.substack.com/p/decluttering-for-witches-or-one-box

Tonight, I didn't do much Beltane-ish magic or so, just lighting a candle and some incense, giving some offerings ... and then I took a look what's in that box and found one spell from 2022.
I guess it's time to release that. 😅Or do a new one.

Anyone else familiar with the hearthcraft tradition of not bringing the old broom into the new house?

Getting myself a new broom and mop for the new place (they need replacing anyways). But I'm pondering on the treatment of the Roomba and Brava Jet.

My thinking is to replace the brushes and pads (needs doing anyways). So the machine is the same but the broom-esque part is new.

Borders Witch Hunt

A great talk by Mary Craig in about the facts and fictions around the Witch hunts in the Scottish Borders. New (to me) was the high rate of suicides amongst convicted men (if executed the Kirk got their inheritance, if suicides then they were just damned) and the last (1941) conviction for Witchcraft - still sealed!

As a pre-emptive strike we also picked up an extra copy of her book to prevent our daughter filching ours…
