A woman is just about to cross the finish line of a half marathon. Her husband encourages their kids to celebrate with her. Except that he does this before the finish line, not after. He literally pushes two of the kids into her path to hug her. She deftly runs around them to cross the finish line. /1

Last weekend, I got to try the shaaken beef with Tattooine bounty, which includes peppers, onions and crispy kale, from , a dish that debuted on May 4 this year. The dish was ok, a little salty, which is saying a lot coming from me. I wouldn't order it again. /1

I was very fortunate to be able to attend this tribute to . What an amazing evening. And to top it off, they didn't pick this date for that reason, but today would have been Howard's 74th birthday.

The main guests were John Musker and Ron Clements, who, among other things, directed the animated films and , so they had a lot of stories to tell about Howard. /1

I saw last night, and I generally liked it, though I much preferred the second half to the first half. I thought the set-up took too much time, and I might also have liked the approach to be a little different. I also never really got the motivation for why Bea took on the endeavor, which I think would have helped. /1

(about 10 mins video - first of two videos) I was fortunate on Sunday to see two of the on a training walk. They got to interact with some other droids, and showed us how they've been taught to react to royalty. Unfortunately, one of the droids ran out of charge before the end of the training and had to be helped off. (You know how when kittens are sleepy, they just stop and plop wherever they are and take a nap? Droids are apparently the same.)

Saw fireworks at tonight. Highlights for most people are flying as well as the multi-ballooned house from .

It's actually the best fireworks show they've had in a while in that the fireworks are a significant and spectacular part of the show, as opposed to the focus being the visual projections. 1/3

On our visit to last night, I realized I hadn't really looked at the graphics in the first room. So many fun places to go on the holodeck! And I love the variety of planets represented on the star chart. 1/3

We had our second visit to last night. A friend and I shared the Caesar salad, which was really good. I particularly enjoyed the dressing.

I also tried the tuna ceviche, which I also really liked. And they included a pretty slice of watermelon radish. I'm still wondering about the beans being used for the chips, whether they're washed and re-used or just thrown away. I feel like it's such a waste if they're thrown away. /1

I saw last night celebrating its 45th anniversary. It's been a seriously long time since I've seen the film, and I don't know if I've ever seen it in a theatre.

The Fox logo at the beginning looks so weird, and the fanfare is a shorter version than the one I'm used to, but other than that, the film holds up really well. 1/2

I went to an early screening of last night. I thought the movie was a bit uneven, in that there were dialogue scenes and then there were action scenes, and they never seemed to mesh.

The best things about the movie are and , who are both really good and have great chemistry together. I also enjoyed seeing as well as in what was to me a surprising role. /1

We made our first visit to last night, right before official opening day today.

We started with an amuse bouche that included corn tortillas (which were underneath the folded napkin, and which I apparently didn't think to take a picture of). I really liked them, and they were sort of multi-colored patchwork quilt - very cool. The cheese was really good, as was the salsa and black bean spread. /1

Some of the fun things I saw today at the , which we visited today to celebrate a friend's birthday. I didn't take a lot of pictures but just enjoyed hanging out with a bunch of friends. All the various hills did also give me a good workout. 1/3

I saw an early access screening of last night. It was an interesting story idea. I wasn't too keen on the constant time jumps, though I get what they were going for. It was really cool to see in a role that's very different from what she's known for, though I admit I haven't seen Euphoria yet.

And, I figured out one of the plot points before it happened, which is fairly unusual for me! 1/2

Yesterday afternoon, I saw all the extra stuff they added to the sculpture in the esplanade during the 15 hours since I'd seen it last. It's very nice, but my lament is that for Pixar, they often focus on the same several films. I appreciate that they've added a few more to this celebration, like and and , 1/2

Chocolate-espresso loaf (chocolate-espresso cake filled with chocolate mousse, topped with dark chocolate ganache and chocolate and white chocolate curls) from the in . This was soooo good. I could have done without the white chocolate curls but they were easy enough to ignore. 1/2

Last day of for us yesterday. Pastrami fries (crinkle-cut fries with cheese sauce, pastrami, SJG sauce and pickles) from . Pretty good serving size. I liked the cheese sauce but the "SJG sauce" (as in SmokeJumpersGrill) was more like a Thousand Island dressing, and the sweetness didn't really fit in for me. 1/2

We watched last night with amazement and appreciation and sadness, since it was the last scheduled presentation of the show currently. (We got fireworks and projections but neither of the two characters who are supposed to fly over the castle, probably because of the earlier rain.)

This is the amazing Hercules, Moana, Belle and Quasimodo segment. Two other segments will be in separate posts. 1/3
