Interesting beekeeping discovery yesterday. Used the new battery-powered weed whacker to trim around beehives, and got ZERO reaction to the weed whacking and equipment. I'm curious if this is because they are most sensitive to the smell of gasoline powered weed whackers, or the noise level/vibration of the battery powered trimmers is below what would trigger a reaction. (they are known for hating people weed whacking around their hives).

Disappointed the real estate agent (is that Realtor(TM)?) at the door, who specifically drove over to my house to try to figure out if we were selling (noticed the pods out front for the last few months due to our disaster remodeling), LOL. Has been showing up regularly trying to find "the owners", based on all my security camera logs... (there is a shortage of inventory on the market here, for sure). #realestate

@ai6yr Oh man.... So my sister passed away unexpectedly last September. She rented in Queens and Its slowed down but I still get calls from real estate agents who scan the public court filings (I had to get a order to enter the apartment to get burial clothes) asking me to sell it. Talk about bottom feeding and get my number from the same documents

@ai6yr Thanks she was a Professor of Middle East Studies and had just got tenure. Sadly we are still waiting for the courts to appoint me administrator for 6 months and still no progress. meanwhile her apartment remains sealed

It still aggravating that these real estate "professionals" dont even bother to look up the apartment to see if its a rental

Interesting results of my poll. I appreciate the inputs! (I have not decided on a plan of action yet, but not convinced of the benefits of paying, along with the 72% -- and a bit wary of feeding the nonprofit grifting machine). They have attracted a lot of people to put up their libraries, but it seems like most of their work is marketing the idea.

@ai6yr So our library has been up for a while and when I built it there were few of them around so the appeal 9and it was cheaper then) to register it with that group was it added it to their locator. Now there are so many around and a lot less novel that It seems superfluous.

If I was doing it today I would instead spend the $50 to open up a panty version of the library in conjunction with say a aide organization and try to keep it stocked in a disadvantaged area to help provide food security to any and all

Umbra SAR layers are exactly where this guy went missing (in 2005, mind you). Conceivably the camera would have lasted from 2005 and be detectable with enough resolution of a synthetic aperture radar.

@ai6yr Wow I poked around that area both in the Scouts and many years ago. Near the Dam its okay and that tunnel on the other side is cool. The terrain in parts is pretty unforgiving however.

@ai6yr Yeah for sure. The biggest downfall to experience IMHO in the outdoors is the same thing we deal with on transport. I really have to check the "Ive got this" mentality. It can get you into trouble.

I am assuming mind you but given he was experienced.

I can't recall if we have talked about this before. Are you familiar with Tom Mahood? His desert roaming and story on finding that A-12 crash site is one of the reasons I roam the desert. He also pieced together the mystery of the German family who went missing in Death Valley
