aurora over the farm the other night. took out the DSLR for the first time in awhile and decided to shoot in raw, which I also haven't done in awhile but I'm not unhappy with the results. #nikon#d750#auroraborealis#nebraska#farmlife
Was just getting super pissed that the autofocus on my 28-105 D and D750 wasn't working and was scared it was the the screw motor on the body, but my 35 f2 D and 80-200 f2.8 both work, so maybe the 28-105 needs more torque than what the D750 can provide? It used to work, but I guess for now I'll have to stay with a prime walking around lens on. #Photography#nikon
It's funny. Now RED is part of the Mitsubishi Keiretsu, under Nikon. The culture clash must be extraordinary - from wild west LA VC capitalism to Japanese technological conservation managerialism in one go. #photography#nikon#red
Nothing too remarkable about tonight’s #sunset. I just happen to like the three parallel #contrails. We live under two orthogonal #airways here, one running north-south and the other east-west. The latter is usually busier as it includes transatlantic air traffic.
I badly scratched this exposure while fumbling around in the changing bag, and I can't quite believe how much time I've spent cleaning up the scan given it's just a picture of a pile of detritus I found in the woods, but I love the lighting and wanted to save it.
A bit of fun news today, I ordered a new camera last night. It's an old model, a Nikon D7500, but it is brand new, and I feel like I got a pretty good deal on it.
My first DSLR was a D50. I now carry two D3100 SLRs with me when I'm out shooting. This new camera will be the first one I've owned that wasn't near the bottom of Nikon's more economical line of SLRs.
I will probably never own the latest, greatest thing, so I get excited when I can splurge a little.
