@bnjbvr We never see someone really using the tablet. That’s surprising. It seems like it’s only incrustation when we see the screen :-/. The speaker voice and dialogue lines are also hilarious, too serious. Exactly what you said: “you’re not Apple, chill out”, and even for Apple, it becomes more and more a joke/running gag…

Petite question chaussures. Jusqu'en novembre j'avais une paire de chaussures extra lourdes, hautes, qui me defonçaient les pieds mais qui, apres plus de 1000km était encore en bon état. Mais j'ai craqué après une cloque de trop, je suis passé à Salomon. J'ai dû faire une centaine de km avec depuis et les crampons sont déjà usés...
Vous avez une marque qui ne pousse pas à changer de chaussures 2 fois par an ?

uv is a faster Python package manager than pip. It is written in Rust, by Astral, https://github.com/astral-sh/uv.

Home Assistant saves 215 computer hours per month when using uv, e.g. on armhf when it took 1h52m20s with pip versus 6m2s with uv to run their release workflow. That’s insane.

  • Silicon Valley is the trust fund kids
  • Crypto tech is the criminals
  • Google is really fucking evil.
  • tech people are grumpy because their workplaces don’t value the important work they do
  • tech unions are needed
  • video games can be art
  • the lack of gender parity in the industry causes more problems than is acknowledged
  • AI is a weapon
  • analog is safer

About xz: fortunately it was an open source software. Imagine if it was close source, imagine if individuals or companies were injecting malicious codes in all their softwares, what a disaster it would be.

Oh. Yeah. It’s sarcasm.

Please don’t blame the open source model. This attack/backdoor has been detected because all softwares were open source. Blame the free volunteer-based economy, that is foundational for large stacks, yup, that’s OK, but not the open source model.

I know, or I’ve made, or I’ve been part of too many projects that were crucial/vital for external large companies but nobody were inclined to pay for it, even a couple bucks per months. Big companies or big projects are making money on free volunteer-based made softwares, that never see the colour of the money. It’s unfair. I hope the xz story will help conscientise this. I’m candide, I know.
