Is there any text-based, ideally distributed monitoring software out there? I want a TUI that shows me (e.g. with green/red highlights) the reachability of hosts (simple ping checks) while I'm doing network maintenance. Like a really simple, curses based nagios? It would probably look like a bloomberg terminal.. At work we've just begun migrating a few thousand workloads to a new datacenter facility and besides that I'm barely using computers right now. These time-outs just come and go. Meanwhile I leased a 500m² garden and cheerfully dig into this shit. And of course the roof of the summer house there is leaky.. 😉 So.. don't mind me not reacting to your comments and new followings, I'm just outside wearing my straw hat! 🙃

sometimes I completely lack the motivation to do anything.. but then there's SimCity2000! 💙 There's a patched version that runs under Win10/11 with native resolution.. which is nice.

By now it's probably mostly forgotten fact, but if you're in for some 16-color 32x32 .ICO nostalgia, the Moricons.dll is still available even in Windows 10 (not sure about 11). Look for it at %SystemRoot%\System32\moricons.dll.

Wow, Ibis #Leipzig just canceled our reservation for #WGT in May. Seems like both hotels are affected by heavy water damage. 😱
We were able to get another hotel in the city center, but ~100EUR more expensive. 🤬
Compared to >1000EUR for 4 days on Pentecost in other hotels it is still a bargain. 🥴

I wish that deranged collaboration tool #teams are being tortured with nowadays would be more like its ancient predecessor: Microsoft #NetMeeting. Its feature set was ahead of its time and the clean, native UI was made for productivity. Unfortunately - besides being EOL - it doesn't support IPv6 & is based on H.323, which means it won't work behind NAT offhand.
