I'm curious how people score on the FM 100 Hue Test? I score a perfect 0, but I don't know how much of the norm that is: https://www.color-blind-test.com/images/huetest/Farnsworth100.html

@ned I got a 4 on my external 27” middle of the road monitor. Moved the window to my Macs Retina screen, turned the brightness up a bit, and got a 0.

Well this is fun! I finally got my Apple Vision Pro in Glasgow, but it turns out it's not actually my Apple Vision Pro.

It's in the right box, but it's a 256GB model, not a 512GB, and the serial number of the device doesn't match my order. I have to assume that the store in San Francisco mixed up devices when they were packing them. And somebody in SF got a free upgrade to a 512GB one.

I suspect they would say “just bring it back”, but that's kinda hard now that I'm 5,000 miles away. Fuck.

@andycarolan I’m not particular about colors, purple = ~14 feet. The last time I bought cables, I bought different colors for different lengths. When I need a cable I choose by color and always get the right length.
That was so long ago I can’t tell you if I saw it somewhere or had an original idea. It has served me well.

I’m no Kickstarter expert, but as a silk supporter of I’d offer this advice to the @Iconfactory folk: Create a $50 or $75 addon that gets you into an early access testflight, and more frequent (weekly?) testflight builds when you get into the thick of development and you’ll get more $ from me, and probably many like me.

Their potential newapp will only get built if the Kickstarter gets funded. Currently at 44% of 100k. It’d be great if they hit 50% of their goal today, on day 1!

@gedeonm that's how I manage email as well. One little wrinkle is that I strive, not for inbox zero, but to have less than a screen full of emails (~10) in my inbox - too easy for me to ignore emails I can’t see.

How many software SAAS businesses would go under if Amazon decided to make a user friendly version of the AWS dashboard? Like, a lot?

@collin maybe it’s complicated for reasons - like maybe they want to limit their actual customers to the technically competent who are willing to invest in AWS expertise, and let those companies resell at a markup and let them provide the support to the end users. Kinda like a wholesaler for compute services.

My question is who is the next president should the following all occur.

Trump appears on enough ballots and wins sufficient Electoral College votes to be the next President.
It is decided (by whoever needs to decide) that he did engage in an insurrection
Congress fails to remove the disability

@collin I am a boomer (born 61) and answer as such in polls or when asked. But coming near the end of the boomer era, I always identify more with Xers. But in this case I differ greatly from Xers in that I always identify myself as a boomer, albeit with an asterisk.

@gedeonm as a longtime follower who finds your toots interesting but has only ever seen your name in print, I’d love to see a phonetic pronunciation of your last name in your profile or a pinned tweet.

And while we’re at it, the first name is it a soft G like so pronounced like Jed, or a hard G like garage or GIF, you know, the graphic file format that is not pronounced like the peanut butter.

@Hawkmoon I will try to remember the movie later, but I have a strong recollection of a movie (maybe with Matthew Modine?) where the surgeon blasted Jimmy Buffet in the OR.
But I’d be interested in the list as well.

Also - great song to start my day. Probably my fav Van Morrison song even though he had bigger hits.
