@joshourisman how come 😀 ? That is my current dream since I still have some other things floating around that use other formats.

@anderseknert I swear this happens to be once a month 😅

Especially with go because Im always opening sub dirs in their own vscode instance because I am too dumb to get go.work to work for me consistently in complex projects.

If all the "you really don't need X" blogs (where X is commonly some technology like microservices, cloud, kubernetes...) changed their perspective to first person "I really don't need X", and wrote about their choices based on their own requirements, I'd enjoy reading that. But all too often, the "you really don't need X" posts just comes out as "you don't need a wheelchair, I've managed just fine without one"... and like yeah, me too, but perhaps people have different needs and requirements?

@anderseknert this is such a good point!

pro tip: learning this the hard way, if you're trying to fix linter issues based on ouput with or start fixing from the bottom of the output because if you start on the top then all of your changes will effect the downstream line number references.

@joshhunt hahahah I didn't think anyone would notice 😇

I think I could chain this somehow to make the gif before posting but that felt like a step too far down a rabbit hole.

Something I’ve really enjoyed here has been reaching out to people I find interesting and asking if they’d like to chat (online or in person in SF / Oakland). I don’t want anything (money, referrals, or to recruit you to a cult), I just think there’s a large group of very interesting people and I love interesting people! It reminds me a lot of 2006-2009 early Twitter but maybe even better. I talk to some of you regularly even!

Anyway, if you think this might be fun lmk!

NEW EPISODE!

"Winter Cycling in Oil Country"

An unlikely cycling revolution is happening in Edmonton, Alberta. Despite freezing temps, lots of sprawl and an economy built on pulling oil out of the Albertan tar sands, the Canadian city is in the midst of a four-year, $100 million CAD investment in active transportation that will connect the city with a network of high-quality, protected bike lanes.

Hear from the folks making it happen!

I love taking photos of busy Chinatown shops. The things arranged haphazardly, the prices, the writing.. it all makes me feel very at home!

@skinnylatte i love this - sugarcane!?!?! Where is this haha.

This reminds me so much of the little shop outside of my husbands parent's home in Nanchong Sichuan Province where there are two ladies outside peeling and chopping up sugarcane all day long.

I know I work there, but is so awesome.

This morning I was able to write a docusaurus module in under 10 minutes that allows to me grab any git URL (including branch) and spin up a local version of a docs site without having to install any local dependencies.

this makes reviewing PRs for docs so much better because I don't need to remember how to do any git fetch or checkout stuff 😅
