Hey WaPo: does he want us to think about how we should have approximately 7 clothes, all monochromatic brown/black, and the ones we're not wearing eerily equally spaced along a white wall in our eerily spare and monochromatic apartment?

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

@amyfou if the clothes are black, I could go for that 🤣

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

@amyfou well. Not really. I do like a container the size of a small car full of socks and underpants. Hidden, obviously.

How much alone time vs socializing do you need?

For me there are a few people who are usually equalizing, and I can just be around them, so I won't count that. But generally, I find about 3 times a week, I'm game for socializing. A day in between to rest is usually nice, but the larger the gathering or if we go somewhere particularly noisy or I'm meeting new people that involves more effort, and my social battery empties sooner. I'm very curious where everyone else falls on this!

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

@RickiTarr Socialising with animals constantly, with the bloody humans, I like to keep it to one person about 8 hours a week.

No need to go mad.

I know the student protests will win their argument on domestic soil, that politicians supporting unqualified Zionism and genocide will become disfavoured, rejected, and some prosecuted in the fullness of time. That the power of many lobbies holding democracy to ransom will be diminished. All for the better.

But I am disheartened even now, that we have again been unable to stop a genocide. We haven't saved lives.

The costs of our moral victories are too high, because they come too late.

@angiebaby All the excuses of bought men and women, who are not by any measure, people of action. They are agents of downfall, mentally stalled in atrophic state, and they are legion.

Caught in the superficial game of surface politics, they are almost professional ineffectuals. Waylaid from all true recourse to action.

Frankly they embarrass humanity.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

@angiebaby You are of course correct in that. I for one will never be quite able to compute, how in a game where 95% of humanity in politics is lost, we are in their minds, supposed to be so enthused about fighting to retain a couple of percent of difference between two utterly noxious downfall candidates, instead of replacing them, or assassinating them, or anything but this.

You know the two major parties are just offering more oligarchy and corporate rule, their social issues are just contrived to court the dumber electorate on the extremes. They aren't there to represent you and they never will until damaged to unrecognisable and needing to be rebuilt.

Vote green, force the other two into earning your vote. Or let them rot.

Greens might go the same way, but much slower. Let's see how it goes.

That fails. I'll approve use of guillotines, ok?

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

@seawall Well, first the people are habituated, second the majority are politically illiterate, third the oligarchs pay people to maintain the illusion of there being only two parties that can be legitimately voted for, conveniently the ones already in the pocket, this opinion widely enforced by sock puppets, and lastly we have fptp, and a lot of gerrymandering and stuff like photo IDs going on to suppress the vote of the poors.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

@seawall that's why I'm saying the British people should just vote green. Just...fuck it. Britain has been done up like a kipper, a vote between Tory and labour has never been less different, we are functionally an oligarchy now.

Only thing that can remotely frustrate that is voting third party. It's the least meaningless vote. Something to explore and test before we break out the torches and pitchforks.

The media reporting on bird flu is more of the same horseshit we got with COVID, just read an article that said " bird flu has a long way to go before it makes the jump to humans" a week after a texan farmer is confirmed to have it.

At this rate we'll die because academics and the press are a bit laggy.

This always behind the infection rate thing. Not great. Just like to remind everyone that we are all descended from non-laggy people who didn't buy into laggy people's crap.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

I do not want to hear this " don't panic " shit from laggy twats. Lagging is not a sign of expertise. More that you'll sit brainsharting for four months while in a position of responsibility about lethal shit, instead of developing a real coping strategy, that you should have started thinking about within minutes, even on a groggy morning.

You should be fired.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

If someone really fucking good at emergency planning and epidemiology, with a solid track record of actually stopping outbreaks says " don't panic" I won't panic.

When someone who sits there playing with their arsehole , who thinks life is basically a lackadaisical version of the Sims, and that everything can wait until next week tells me not to panic, face facts.

I'll neck a pint of coffee and do what you should've been doing you lazy glazed turd.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

You block off the infection from those that never need have it, and reduce the frequency of infection in those that might potentially become immune if not overawed by huge numbers of virions and multiple infections, and you slow the viral mutations rate in the process, and you allow satellite populations to exist without infection if at all possible.

You always do that, there's never an excuse to do otherwise, that never changes.

Being laggy achieves none of this. Viruses must be slowed.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

Humans fast, viruses slow, that's how stuff survives.

Have we all got that kiddies?

I keep seeing footage of Joe Biden lately. He's a cognitive deficient. He's barely aware of reality. The presidents seat is empty. I doubt he's making a single decision on anything. Brain fog ain't the word, he's a suggestible automaton. You can't vote for him, cos he ain't there. Totally subject to interrogative suggestibility.

He's not really analysing anything he's told.

People.

Delete the crap. Don't put it in cloud storage. Fucking delete it. A part of the world burns because you took 57 photos of an eBay item, needed one and didn't delete the rest.

Do some fucking housekeeping, please.

lhgmk2,
@lhgmk2@mas.to avatar

I take between 50,000 to a quarter million photos a year.

Theres about a 2000 images of mine available to be seen on the internet. Total. They're doing business. There's a point to all of them.

That's a standard to be kept. A 99.99% deletion rate. A 99.99% decisiveness.

Keep the keepers, bin the rest. Keep the undecideds and spares on a backup drive or two. Cost to run? Nothing. Probably 95% of you don't even need cloud storage for photos.

Excluding the right of the COVID vulnerable to protest by making masked presence illegal at protests is surely a violation of 1st amendment rights in the US, and article 11 of human rights act under freedom of expression in the UK and some of Europe.

Never let a right winger tell you that during a pandemic you're " living in fear" these bloody people are afraid of kids books, their own invisible friends, the sex lives of people they've never met, being able to woo an actual adult, free elections, video games, low budget horror movies, beans, anti-genocide protests, black people stood anywhere except prison or africa, being photographed by anything that doesn't serve oligarchy, and being in small reliable cars.
