I want to live in a world where all books are both popular and good 😁

OTOH, there is the "If Books Could Kill" and they save you a lot of time by reading those oh-so-popular shitty books and debunking them.

@nancylwayne from my mom's garden - pen for size comparison. When we harvested these yesterday, there were several the size we call mini nuclear submarines, and she was like "oh I know you don't want those, I'll give them.to someone else" :)

My daughter was just aggressively attacked by two sparrows in NYC while trying to eat her bagel sandwich outside. They were working as a team. I traded seats with her but it didn’t change anything. A piece of bacon fell out during one attack and they ripped into it like a pair of carnivorous seagulls. NYC sparrows are not normal. Be careful out there!

Yeah idk it’s completely bonkers to me that the people who make this site don’t allow quote posts because of some ideology of harassment, but don’t have the ability to disable replies. This is the latest effort I could find. https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/14762

Blaise Pascal, the philosopher born just over 400 years ago, made what is know as "Pascal's Wager" about the existence of .

He argued for betting on the existence of God. “If you win, you win everything; if you lose, you lose nothing,” he wrote, positing that although one cannot know for certain whether or not God exists, we are better off believing in God’s existence than not.

His is all of life is a wager.

And would you take his wager?

@TheConversationUS the whole idea of belief is that you cannot 'decide' to, you do or you don't.

(and IF "God" exists, I'd rather bet on them not being the God of any monotheistic religion on Earth, which is a matter of stochastics, with about 2 trillion known galaxies in the universe)
