I've really never run a classic dungeon crawl. My first game as a player was a dungeon (4e's Keep in the Shadowfell) and as much as that edition and module left much to be desired, I feel nostalgic for it.
If a guy was planning to run a short dungeon crawl with a goal length of 4-6 sessions, what would you suggest?
Extra data points:

  • I'll likely use TBH or OSE
  • I'm not wild about tons of puzzles, but can tolerate a few
  • A fun overarching story is a great bonus

I'm doing kind of a mashup of and . I'm trying to do LESS of this stuff in my regular games, so I'm scratching the itch this way instead.
Also, boy howdy. I forgot drawing is HARD. And inking is even worse! I think this will be good exercise.

Oh damn, I have just had a REVELATION regarding my West Marches game. I felt like there was a gap I could not figure out how to fill in the setting that justified more dungeon-crawling and danger. By gum, I've got it!! Something that lets me pepper the map with dungeon-like stuff that I had not considered before, and another genre of weird monsters.

For the sake of the minimum wage workers and low income families of Toronto, I'm glad the TTC strike was averted. I'm also glad for the TTC workers' sake, though I'll wait to hear the details of the deal before I get too excited for them.

@slyflourish I love reflections. Reflections are a great place for supernatural entities to attempt to pass messages.
Polishing a sword, you catch sight of a face mouthing words to you through the flat of the blade. During a night of carousing, you look into your tankard and glimpse a familiar figure stabbing someone in the back. A hand silently slams against the inside of a vanity mirror, and a moment later the mirror shatters.

Does anyone have a good line on authentic naval fort maps? I've found some really cool forts, but finding nice clear maps that detail interiors and exterior (and labeled) are hard to come by!
I think part of the issue is the fact that they often aren't split in to clear levels which makes mapping clearly quite difficult.
Still, some must exist!
