@markmccaughrean this morning I decided to remove them from the backyard and relocate them to a nearby green area. I removed them so many times from the walls, windows etc and put them under the hedge, but they keep coming back! 😤 I had them once in my life only because all my tablemates said they were the best snails they ever had. I don't think I will ever eat them again though. 🙂

Day 3

Despite everyone warning me how bad internet speeds are here, I'll take this as a win 🙂👍

This is with a long piece of Cat 5e cable connecting the router from the floor above to my Thunderbolt dock.

WiFi varies wildly across the four floors, from >900Mbps next to the router to 50Mbps in some rooms thanks to the concrete & steel floors & walls.

I had no luck with a 500Mbps Ethernet over Power set, delivered only ~30Mbps (3-phase power?).

Thoughts? Worth trying mesh?

This is what I get on my tablet through powerline wifi from a FWA with base station on a mountain 20 km away. That's exactly what I pay for so, I can't complain 🤓

Believe it or not, I’ve been looking for Digimon for ages. You can’t get early episodes streamed, and the DVDs are crazy expensive. So I’m happy to see a VHS in the wild for so cheap.

My kid really likes this. She loves that Digimon can speak.

Was reminded today that this past weekend saw the 50th anniversary of the FA Cup final between Liverpool & Newcastle, which the former won 3-0 ⚽️

Which in turn reminded me that I have an original programme from the day – I didn't go, but someone I knew did & they gave me this immediately after 🤷‍♂️

For some reason, I think it might've been my dad, but then why didn't I get to go ... 🧐

@markmccaughrean well, at least every packet carried a government health warning 😏 I don't remember such warnings on cigarettes in italy in the 70s or 80s but, on the other side, cigarettes advertising was and keeps being banned.

@markmccaughrean i don't know but we experienced something like that in Italy for almost 30 years between the early 90s and late 2010s, with Berlusconi. Politics has becone more something against the opposite faction than towards something good to do for a community. Perhaps it's always been like that and i'm too naive to think it was better before 😑

In spaceflight news today, China is about to launch three of its astronauts on Shenzhou 18 towards the Tiangong space station: liftoff is in about 7 minutes from now.

Should be going on CGTN within the next hour to talk about the mission & international collaboration in space exploration.

The latter is certainly an interesting question given the current geopolitical context 😬

Still no baby goats - really hoping today is the day (because tomorrow is all day Zoom meetings)

The plus side of having to go out to the barn at 2am to check on pregnant goats is that there were faint auroras (which actually must have been pretty bright just to compete with the nearly-fully moon), and I heard 2 great horned owls calling back and forth to each other.
