The good news is I put in a new battery, and it has more capacity! The bad news is that it's so large I cannot put the cover back on the UPS so now it's sitting 6cm off the floor with the battery sticking out.

I spent a good amount of time yesterday trying to explain what a "witness" is and what it is to "witness" something to a five year old.

We also got into "hearsay" and "reliable sources" all while discussing someone at school who is supposedly "mean" but so far there is no proof and we don't want to wrongly accuse anyone.

By the way, I tend to talk to kids like they are normal people, and don't dumb things down. Most kids seem to like that.

Friday May 31st, 2024 is Bay View Gallery Night in Milwaukee. Last time I just went up and down KK and didn't really stray from there but we'll see how it goes this time.

So today I've got some pain in my left foot (started two days ago) my elbow is acting up (dislocated it twice 14 years ago) and my neck pain is back (did PT for it 5 months ago) also, new today is shortness of breath and abdominal pain. I will also add exhaustion where I think I could fall asleep in minutes if I lied down.

I'm at work for the next 7 hours...

@fistfulofdave I'll keep an eye on things... it's weird in that some days (or parts of the day) I feel totally fine, and other times I get really exhausted.

I almost didn't go for a ride today because I didn't feel 100% but I've skipped the last few days and thought I was just being lazy.

I'm just taking it easy at work today and I'll either go home and do design work at my desk or just lie down and rest.

Had an idea to take an old song I wrote and meld it with an new one I am working on. It worked! Took the guitar part and made it the bass line. Once it got the tempo correct it was all good.

Someone I know who is running for office just sent an email asking for donations, and pointed out that funding is important at the start of a campaign because "A car needs gas before it can go anywhere."

@crazybutable Of course! I just thought the analogy would be a turn-off for most progressives who are into mass transit, EVs, bikes, etc..

Then again, they may be targeting moderates... And it is in a more rural part of the state.

Reminded by replies on @rasterweb ’s post ( https://mastodon.social/@rasterweb/112510709516785401 ) asking about prescription protective glasses, that Zenni might have reasonable sports prescription sunglasses — I keep putting off getting Oakleys, etc, because they’re so expensive. So thanks to the commenters there for reminding me that Zenni exists. It turns out they do have similar prescription sunglasses that should work for riding .
