The reason I didn’t do any live posting about the Starship launch is I was frantically working on this. Here's my take on the launch (including video from the launch and flight because WOW SpaceX put on a good show here)
Just got the email confirmation from SpaceX -- Starship's third test launch is set for tomorrow morning. Checked with the FAA, and yep, there's the launch license:
Reviewing the NASA budget proposal (all 800+ pages of it) and found this gem: “NASA is reviewing the results of the feasibility study performed with SpaceX and assessing potential next steps to boost the orbit and possibly enhance Hubble using private funding.”
@skrishna This entire thing is sort of the same shape as early discussions about the Mercury perihelion anomaly. "Enh, classical physics is functionally complete, this is just a side story some postdoc will figure out eventually no big deal.... oh wait this problem isn't solving itself because it can't in the classic model.... uh oh what now" and then suddenly Einstein shows up. Your description, putting us firmly in the "uh oh what now" part of the conversation is great.
