Had a blast riding over Stevens Pass, Blewett Pass, and Snoqualmie Pass over the weekend! I finally became comfortable with counterleaning allowing me to put my CBR650R to good use on twisty roads, and the Corbin saddle with 2” extra height over the stock seat saved my knees and wrists. This bike is so much fun! (Album (more photos))

@tk other than "one of the most reliable bikes Honda has built if you ignore issues with the regulator/rectifier?"

They're a great sporty all rounder and should still be if you can find one that's been looked after properly. Some jobs on it can be very fiddly due to access issues.

@arnan @Homoevolutis0 Can't speak for Vespas, but IMHO it takes a lot of miles to wear out a properly maintained BMW if you don't go deer hunting on them...

@heiseonline "Begeistern“ war jetzt nicht direkt ein Wort, was ich zumindest hier drüben (USA) mit „alle dürfen wieder ins Büro müssen“ assoziieren würde.

Und auch hier drüben sehe ich oft eine Argumentation, die man auf „weil der große Chef das so sagt“ reduzieren kann. Einige Leute vermuten, dass sowas halt auch oft eine Personalreduktion durch die Hintertür ist.

Mein Team ist allerdings schon vor COVID 100% Remote und das ändert sich wohl auch nicht.

Yes, dear package manager, I definitely did want to upgrade my installation when I’m rebuilding my package. You know, the package I had to downgrade every time I tried to update a completely unrelated package.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a that is less “helpful” and instead simply does what one asks it to do? ’s approach of “oh, this looks a bit outdated so let me ‘help’ you with this” is starting to get on my nerves.

@davidbures thank you - I didn't know that you could pin the package. That's pretty much all I need, at least until the hg-git plugin works with newer versions of again.

@davidbures I actually have the ruby file for the working version of the package on my disk so every time I need to downgrade, I simply run brew install ./mercurial.rb. Still looks like pinning is the way to go, though.

I’ll have a look at the GUI, though. I’m generally very comfortable on the command line but a decent UI never hurts.

@gdinwiddie @jasongorman They could also hand out said static IP via DHCP. That's how I had a static IP for years from a small ISP.
