An entire thing about finding an effective app to help with tasks or scheduling is that even after you've found one, even after you've used it a bit and you feel that it really helps - you will inexplicably then forget it exists. Multiple times.

(This is legit funny and it's okay to laugh, but at the same time this kind of thing can really wear on the self-esteem of a person w/ ADD/ADHD, so be gentle and don't tease too hard when your friend is like, "Oh YEAH, I forgot I have that...")

@hollie This also goes for apps you literally wrote yourself for the specific purpose.

@andrewfeeney Yes! 😂 I was just telling @elight that I forget the app my husband's company made - it's so embarrassing! I mean I didn't code it but I've been around it for ages. I have literally said to Greg, "I just need to make a good outline," and he's like, "You know I may have an app for that," and I just turn red.

@hollie in discussion with @mattwilcox on here I think we concluded that we (I say we, I dunno if I have ADHD but I share some of the issues) always want to find that one thing that will fix the distraction from/memory of tasks that need doing - but there will never be a permanent fix.

We either forget, or turn a blind eye enough times for it to become a new stack of papers to ignore (I have a literal pile on my home office floor right next to the filing cabinet I built to fix that problem).

@sarajw @mattwilcox This is so relatable, I find the same happens to me for so many things. For years I really beat myself about it but now I'm pretty gentle on myself.

@hollie I was thinking the other day, about how I should devise some way to rotate my apps so that they're always fresh to me. That way I might actually use them properly...

@DJDarren Yes! :) I often find when I'm cleaning up or getting rid of things, be that actual stuff or digital stuff like apps, that I consistently run into things where I think, "If I'd KNOWN I had this, I would be using it."
