Today I saw two flycatchers, and if you disagree with my identifications, you're probably right. I also saw a juvenile woodpecker. I think this is an eastern peewee. It is a small, olive-brown bird, with a whiteish throat, chest and belly. It has long wings, unlike other flycatchers.
This is a juvenile red headed woodpecker, hatched this summer. It won't get its red head for a while, maybe a year from now. It has a brown head, brownish-black feathers and a dingy white belly.
This is the last look at the juvenile male ruby throated hummingbird that was probably hatched in my yard this summer. I haven't seen him or his sister for 10 days, so I assume they have departed for the south, which they have never seen, but somehow they know how to get there.
