i dont see tornadoes as a big threat to me in Chicago. but, i also dont want to be considering 'where is the safest place for me?' while a tornado is actively bearing down.
there have been some serious outbreaks of tornadoes very recently, and theyre ongoing. stay safe out there folks, and take a few moments; learn how to react if you are in tornado danger, and where is the safest place in your home
A bit of advice from tornado alley - keep your important documents and files in a designated file box or backpack you can grab on a moments notice. If your home is seriously damaged, you'll have your deed, insurance, mortgage papers, and your personal documents (birth certificates, ss cards, etc). Often you cant even start to file claim without proof of ownership, and all that.
Update: @BakerRL75 is back relaying severe weather updates, her Internet back online. Note: it's always good to have alternate channels of communications with folks you know through social media. #wx
@ai6yr@BakerRL75 thank you for updating. I was a little worried when she disappeared, but suspected this might be the case. Either that or she took a dinner break!
Mother Nature appears to be VERY interested in clobbering your car/roof/windows/head today, if you are in these colored areas. PURPLE!! (80% probability). #hail#WX
@ai6yr Tis true that weather affects them. Dunno about prognosticating…I always worry about the red onion’s insides after rainy season. Especially if dicing for a taco/nacho bar like I am going to do for a kiddie bday this weekend. I’ll admit to being a produce snob b/c we had our own garden before.
