@ai6yr insurance rates are also rising over here in UK, even though GDPR forbids a lot of the datagathering, spyboxes (separate to the car) are generally only required for young drivers (<age 25) and a large portion of the cars on Britain's roads do not have this level of tech in them..
@vfrmedia Well, it's one thing to opt in to provide that info. It's another for that information to be sent to insurers without your permission. I think it's acceptable to say: " you get a big discount if you give us your data" or even "we penalize you if you don't give us your data", but no "hey we snagged your data from your car and your rates are going up, ha ha"
