Like Massachusetts, California has adopted ambitious goals. Unlike the Bay State, CA is getting serious about getting people out of cars and on to trains and buses. Policymakers are targeting a 5 to 10-fold increase in transit ridership above pre-COVID levels by 2045:

@streetsblogmass MassDOT doesn’t even mention mode shift in their latest planning documents. It’s a lot of “keep doing the same thing” with some window dressing that fails to address the climate crisis in any meaningful way… https://www.mass.gov/beyond-mobility
