I spent several weeks being extremely dedicated to Vampire Survivors. I really appreciate having a game with jingly slot machine clutter and compulsive game loops that isn't trying to extract the contents of my wallet.
I really don't understand why Nintendo hasn't been rolling out 2D Zelda games with the traditional formula. There's obviously an appetite for them in the market, with the success of games like Hyper Light Drifter, and gamers have shown that they'll buy basically ANYTHING with the LoZ franchise slapped on.
I've been playing a fair bit of FTL: Faster than Light. I'm in the middle of my A Levels, so I don't exactly want to get hooked on the new Zelda game and FTL is fitting the bill.
Been putting most of my time between Tears of the Kingdom and Destiny 2 these days.
In Zelda, I've already finished the main game, and am just kinda exploring around all the stuff I missed and doing the side quests.
In Destiny, I haven't really touched any of this season's story stuff yet, though, just been playing in the Crucible. Haven't seen much of a Destiny community on kbin yet, but hoping one pops up soon!
I actually made one here but slow going so far! Hoping to see more activity there too. Destiny was my main game for years. I'm currently not feeling the direction it's going in, but it's a series that's super important to me.
...plus I'll be real, I'll probably be back haha. Have over 600 raid clears and that's an addiction that doesn't die out haha.
I just got my first gaming console (PS5) in like 15 years last month, so I have a lot to catch up on. I just finished God of War, probably going to aim to finish Spider-Man: Miles Morales next, then probably move on to Horizon Forbidden West or Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
I've been getting back into FFXIV, myself. Life got crazy for far too long, so I had to leave games on the back burner for some time, but I've been trying to get back into the swing of things. That first login felt fantastic and I've been trying to pop in at least a few times each week. I finially finished capping my healers, so now I'm working my way through my nemises: DPS classes!
I'm so glad to see my boy Sam Lake paired up with James McCaffrey, like a HD Max Payne we never got!
Admittedly I wasn't too into the first game, but I did complete the first chapter a few months back and it was OK. But I am a sucker for shiny, and this looks very shiny (in terms of graphics and presentation).
For example, the dodge the lady did when the monster tried to attack her... SHEEEEEESHH! I love things like that!
I haven't played P3 yet, but the community really seems to love it. Now I'm more excited to try it out because it gets a new look and UI, which probably makes it more accessible than it was before.
I am so happy that this game gets the full on treatment. P3FES was my first game in the series and, still today, is one of the most meaningful gaming experiences I had. However I have a hard time recommending the original releases to people today even if they are fans of character driven RPGs; It's clunky, extremely RNG reliant and slow paced.
I hope that this remake will allow players to engage with the narrative in a new way allowing them to experience a dark and dramatic story.
That said: I also hope that we'll see quite some improvements. Especially when it comes to the Dungeon part of the game just "making you able to control the whole team" won't do; it will require a complete re-balance. People who modded the original P3 releases will know what I mean - and also remove the mandatory "romancing" of people of the opposite gender. I was in my teens when I played the original, I don't feel comfortable anymore with such actions when I am in my thirties tbh. Lastly I really hope that they will include the Epilogue "The Answer".
