@VampiresAndRobots. Doesn't much matter... Elden Ring is just Dark Souls with renamed items and such that perform the same functions. ER is open world and DS is more of a metroidvania format.
Really the only reason I prefer DS is that I played it first. IMO Dark Souls 3 is the best of all the Souls-type game ( they don't have to be played in order). But if open world strikes your fancy, then ER is the best choice as it is quite literally open world Dark Souls.
