Talking Heads is my all time favorite band. Saw them in 79 or so at the Masonic Temple Theater. It was probably the most enjoyable show I’ve ever seen.
@kevin@fediversenews I never got to see them play! Fuck. So jealous! Another close Detroit friend (who almost killed David Byrne on his bike here in NYC recently; long story) and I often reflect on Remain In Light. Is this not the most perfect album ever made? Love me some Eno production.

@kevin sorry to jump in but I was working with a guy the other day who said his friend was at the recording of Stop Making Sense. Apparently they did Psycho Killer twice.
I’ve been here too long, but my bud (and I mean I went to Cass Tech with this man), was literally telling me this story about how he almost killed Byrne by accident, in Chelsea over drinks, and who should walk by with his bike and entourage but the man himself. Life’s weird.

@kevin@fediversenews Before we lose the thread, have you heard the Angélique Kidjo version of Remain in Light? She covered the entire album a couple years ago, and it’s amazing to hear what an actual African (Benin, in this case) makes of it and feeds back into the material.
