I suppose the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Web team are not (yet) in the Fediverse, but I hope they one day fix this problem. MSN has a similar issue. Or maybe it's a bug in the Mastodon software, but I see a lot of news story shares in the Fediverse that look like this.

@michael_martinez I saw this article earlier and clicked through only to be greeted with a GDPR notice. The site has geolocated me in the UK so it could be that any Mastodon server located in Europe isn't going to be able to pick up the og:image for the link. I presume your personal instance is in the US but if this is a toot by someone in Europe then that might explain it.

@simoncox Actually, C.im is based in Germany. It's just very U.S.-friendly (and well adminned, in my opinion).
