Aaargh das ist immer ärgerlich, wenn ich Nachrichten von fremden XMPP-Server reinbekomme, aber darauf nicht antworten kann, weil der Rückkanal nicht funktioniert. Das sieht dann immer wie Ghosting aus, aber tatsächlich kann ich nicht antworten. Zum Beispiel, weil das Zertifikat des anderen Servers abgelaufen ist oder es ein anderes techn. Problem gibt.

So was hatte ich noch nicht. Außer die Person nutzt einen block strangers server. Das ist dann natürlich doof und ein Grund warum ich diese Einstellung nicht mag.

Didn't know this is also possible in Orbot, but I won't do it on my phone as my bandwidth might not always be good enough to provide a good experience and it might also eat my data. @torproject

The headliners of yesterday's evening were Lorna Shore. They delivered the atmosphere you can expect. Unfortunately, the crowd in the hall was very dense, so at a certain point there was hardly any room to move (or breathe).
No matter - then there was no mosh pit for me. Unfortunately, the live sound wasn't as good as on the album and the violins in the background were barely audible. I was expecting a bit more in this respect. Nevertheless, a performance worth seeing!

You were in the Zenith? I attended my last concert there many years ago and don't go there anymore due to the poor sound in this location. I know a lot of people who do the same. Fortunately the bands I prefer are more often in Feierwerk or Backstage and not in Zenith.

Web-based messaging clients had to deal with the fact that web-applications only have one window, and then designed their UI around this limitation.
Now desktop message clients are copying the UI design (because it's the most popular one). They're copying over all the limitations of clients designed for a more restricted target.

I am very happy with #profanity but as #TUI application it also uses only one window but the keyboard driven UI is pretty good for a chat application as you don't have to change between mouse and keyboard all the time.

Ist auf dem technisch neuesten Stand, hat alles, was man sich so wünschen kann, das Webinterface ist einfach gehalten und funktioniert, es gibt eine API und vor allem pfuscht er mir nicht in irgendwelchen DNS-Eingaben herum, sondern frisst sie einfach, wie sie sind und belässt sie auch so.

Das erinnert mich an eine Art Schnitzel und an Fleischbällchen in Taiwan. Sahen sehr lecker aus, waren dann aber mit Lebkuchengewürz (meine Zimt, Anis und Kardamom rausgeachmeckt zu haben) gewürzt. Die Einheimischen stehen da drauf, ich konnte es nicht essen.

Ich nutze seit ca. 20 Jahren #Linux und seit >10 Jahren #Debian.
Auf meinem Hauptrechner Debian testing/sid, auf server, raspberries und Reiselaptop Debian stable.
Ich würde Debian empfehlen, obwohl viele #Ubuntu als etwas einsteigerfreundlicher ansehen. Aber wenn man Debian mit default desktop installiert ist eigentlich alles an Bord was man braucht, man muss ja nicht, wie ich, mit ner headless installation anfangen und dann alles manuell zusammenstückeln. 😁

Werden denn apps wie fedilab auch als browser gezählt (z.B. wenn sie webview nutzen)? Anders kann ich mir die geringe Nutzung von 'native apps' nicht erklären.
Ihr kennt ja das Sprichwort: "Wenn du merkst, dass du ein totes Pferd reitest, steig ab". Tut euren Mitmenschen, die sich (noch) bei X aufhalten, den Gefallen und macht sie darauf aufmerksam. Der Grim Reaper hat X (ehemals Twitter) längst getötet. Die Zukunft gehört freien und offenen Netzwerken wie dem #Fediverse.
@janboehm Ich hab das Deutschlandticket (mit app…) und muss nur alle paar Wochen aktiv werden wenn ich mal in eine Kontrolle gerate. Bei jedem Ein- und Aussteigen das Ticket vorzuzeigen fände ich ganz schön nervig…
