dat_ecosystem,

@smallcircles thabk you for your help and contribution back in the days.

The 10 hear anniversary is coming up soon, so we might reach out after that to interview many previous contributor and "alumni" and talk about the the history. we have come a long way and it feels we have only just started 😊

@dat_ecosystem I am really happy to hear that.

At the time I felt I was somewhat like the "annoying fly in the ointment" 😜 because I came with more non-technical considerations related to positioning of the and strategy towards long-term adoption.

Something I've since done too for the project, and am now doing for the , I am afraid 😬

Generally speaking I feel a weakness in is deepdiving tech, with unclarity on bigger picture and needs that must be addressed.

@dat_ecosystem I've taken notes on some challenges facing the Fediverse, all of which are more social in nature, than they are technical.

https://discuss.coding.social/t/major-challenges-for-the-fediverse/67

One of them has a quote:

“Any decentralized [ecosystem] requires a centralized substrate, and the more decentralized the approach is the more important it is that you can count on the underlying system.”

— Byrne Hobart. The Promise and Paradox of Decentralization

The "substrate" are the people, organization structure and processes.

sounds interesting, also the forum.

i think when it comes to dat, what many try to achieve is codense the essence into something very short and to the point.

in our day and age, most people dont take time to read text walls.
when massively decentralised, everyone cant contribute many words, so they need to matter, which might nake others listen for more words than average.
i find it fascinating to observe tech shifts.

true. I saw your effort in the past on gitter.
i guess everyone was in a place with many different individuals coming together, each having their own unarticulated ideas about how things ought to be, while still trying to be polite and that lead to many awkward moments was my impression.

I agree with the sentiment that communication was lacking and broken in many ways and maybe this can start changing in the coming weeks 🙂
