@Jaden2 I get it. I’m from Mississippi and that place will always hold a chunk of my heart. The good parts are really wonderful, but the bad parts were just too much for me. You gotta do whatever you think is best for you, to hell with anyone else. Trust your instincts, whatever they are. ❤️

I won't vote, but I know you'll do well either way. You've taken charge of steering your life. That, of course, means that you'll always have such decisions to make. That's OK, as you get to make different choices later if you want.
@Jaden2 Winter is gorgeous! Chicago is also less racist, I'd assume? Chicago Winters can also be brutally cold, via the lake effect, which you may find to be extremely oppressive and shitty. Can pops afford to getchoo some good layering duds? You'll need long johns for under the rest of your clothes, warm boots and a puffy coat, fo sho.

From what you've posted in the past it seems that both of them love you a lot and want the best for you.
If you and your parents are up for it give this a try to see if it helps with the discussion and helps minimize people being upset.
Ask your Pops to list the positives of going to Houston and the negatives of staying in Chicago.
Ask your Momma to list the positives of staying in Chicago and the negatives of going to Houston.
Share the lists with everyone and then discuss.
