Well damn. The only thing I watched so far is episode 1 of The Beverly Hillbillies (The Clampetts move to Beverly Hills). And the sad part is I remembered bits of it…
@ryanhoulihan Wow, a couple of people in my feed just recommended it yesterday. They're very likely not of the Fox News ilk so they probably recommended just from a sincere appreciation of Tubi as one of the free platforms. Thank you.
@ryanhoulihan wasn't going to because like the free TV apps on Roku, it's filled with ads...it's as bad as watching network television. But this gives me yet another reason to remove the app.
@ryanhoulihan no offense but whenever you watch TV legitimately you’re playing russian roulette with supporting murdoch cause the entire american entertainment industry is owned by 6 dudes. if you don’t want to fund murdoch I’d propose finding…alternative…methods to watch TV.
@ryanhoulihan yeah, not as if there's much of value on there anyway. Though not everything owned by fox has been some kind of propoganda factory, like fxx, which strangely even makes pretty progressive shows. To be fair to Tubi though it is mostly just a dump for fox and fox subsidiaries content, atleast the stuff that nobody really cares about from that. I think about 80 percent of the user base for that service is just people who wanted to watch something specific and saw that had it, that's the only time I've ever used it. It does fund fox, but the money flows right up to Disney; if we cared about funding Disney that much we wouldn't ever spend money on any media ever. Tubi definitely, by association, furthers the ideas of fox, but it really doesn't do that in any severe way actually. Almost Everything is owned by some shitty company, that's just how capitalism runs I suppose.
