There used to be a city here. People are now debating whether an invader does or does not hold all of the territory the city used to contain. It doesn't matter, for there is no city here any more. What matters is that the invader is evicted and made to bear responsibility for what they have done. #SlavaUkraini#Bakhmut
There cannot be peace without standing trial for the war crimes and destruction the Russian Federation and its leadership have inflicted. They need to pay in all ways possible.
@osma having done intel assessments in the us army i can say that they almost always release an estimate to the public that is much more conservative than the actual count. and they have good political reasons to in this case

Lot of the towns have been looking the same after ww2. We all will help rebuild Ukraine after this war, Ukraine will rock. This will shape the nation for centuries. But Russians will stay where they are for centuries, nothing changed there in mentality since 19th century. I would pay anything if my nation will once in modern history defend itself, either before ww2 after Munich or during soviet invasion in 1968. We did not and it is visible in society.

I'm sure the New Bakhmut will eventually be a great place. I hope they preserve a memory of what was destroyed, unlike what the invader is trying to do: erase the history of an entire nation.
