Measuring the current draw of the LED cuff bracelet is validating my tendency to hoard cables and adapters.

@geekmomprojects previously working in AV i have a deep, psychological need to save all adapters and cables. too many times a Weird™ adapter saved an event or helped prevent a room from being down. many times i had discussions with coworkers who wanted to e-trash cables and i'd be like "no! remember when x-room went down in 2017!? that was our only hope!"

@geekmomprojects Oh, I have also saved other people by retaining old shit like this.

Did I recover someone's only electronic copy of their thought-lost digital thesis because I can read antique floppy disk formats? Yes. I did. Did I recover the only copy of another musician's particularly important personal photograph because I can read in archaic mail storage files and piece them back together? Yes, I did. Did I pull a decade's worth of other peoples' data back from oblivion because I do in fact still have SCSI interfaces and the cables that go with them? Yes. Yes, I did.

"Never erase what you can't replace." It's the Danger Hacker motto. And it's saved my career - and those of others - more than once. ^_^
