@EU_Commission I have 10 USB-C cables at home whose are not interchangeable at all. Some don’t charge fast, some don’t work for data, some are very slow… And the worst is there is visual sign to understand the difference. “10 charger to rule some of all!”

@EU_Commission at the rate usb-c connectors degrade and loosen, this is not going to help with reducing e-waste.

Remember those round barrel connectors in Nokia phones? That shit lasted forever. Separating data and charge connectors would have been a better idea.

@EU_Commission Airplanes and Busses still have USB-A connectors. An adapter is cheap and tiny, but it’s also easy to forget that you need that dedicated adapter every time you travel.

I hope that they will eventually align too.

@EU_Commission unfortunately it doesnt mean one charger to fit them all. As many will already know, OS are VERY fussy about chargers, this is not only about the plug to connect them. I have several 'fast' chargers, for 2 dif android USB-C phones. They dont work interoperably, if at all.

@DrPen @EU_Commission nut are these fussy devices are actually not compliant with the directive as written? I think the Nintendo switch requires its own charger? If so that's clearly not in the spirit of the legislation.
