I am right there with you. When at all possible, I will find a transcript, even if its the crappy auto-generated kind YouTube produces.
I don't want to hear some talking head who obviously has no idea what they're even reading.

When people contact me by Speech Message of lots of minutes, but the real information is three short sentences, I could cry. Text message is so much faster, I can use text search tools.
@StillIRise1963 ResearchBuzz stopped mentioning Facebook or any of its properties in 2021. I felt weird deciding to just ignore such a huge part of the Internet, but I could not get comfortable with the thought that I might be encouraging someone to use Facebook in any way.
@StillIRise1963 me either. I’m not very likely to click on a video link. I also appreciate the most salient parts in the post that make me want to read on. I hate clickbait.
@StillIRise1963 Right, nor is it easy to transcribe if you want to quote it. And I really hate sitting through videos to hear the most important 20 secs of it. @Danetteb
@StillIRise1963@GottaLaff@Danetteb Is it paid or free? Video can be good, depending on creator, but just more time-consuming to view. Smart creators are succinct, get to the point, but it's still not skimmable text.
@CStamp@StillIRise1963@GottaLaff@Danetteb I die a little inside when the video starts - shows presenters face talking - cuts to hand pointing - cuts to face talking - pointy hand - talky face again and again for something that could be a 10 second clip, just show me the title of the article in action, no more, no less
