How do you use these "curated feeds"???

Simply follow them.

The posts will come in just like any other accounts you follow. Now they boost a lot of posts which will flood your Home feed. The solution is to use Lists.

Create a list for this topic, add the account, and go to settings (slider bar icon at top right) and toggle "Hide these posts from home". Your Home feed will no longer receive boosted posts from this account, but you will be able to view them by clicking on the list.

@mastodonmigration @newsmast The weather feed is predominantly US weather. Can I therefore assume that most of the other feeds are US dominated as well?

Seems like there are many feeds that are international. Newsmast is UK based with a worldwide team.

I don't understand what this means.

Good question.

You can remove the contents of any List from your Home feed so the posts do not overwhelm the Home feed. For example to add a News list and hide it:

Click Lists on the right >>> Type "News" in the box >>> Click "Add list" >>>
Click "News" below >>> Click on little slider bars top right >>>Toggle "Hide these posts from home"

Your Home feed will no longer receive boosted posts from this account, but you will be able to view them by clicking on the list.
