"The mom said her daughter hates the attention and is 'just trying to be a normal kid.' But it’s hurt her to have her body judged and picked apart by adult.

"'She’s hanging in there,' van der Beek said. 'But she feels like she can’t be herself in her own skin.'"

Ok, . Take that empathy for a cis girl and apply it to all kids including trans kids.

Yes, there are only a handful who want to play sports, but they, like this girl, are just "trying to be normal kids."

Feeling like they can't be themselves in their own skin is what they are also feeling with gender dysphoria. They deserve the same empathy and understanding.

Stop it with the hate. Tell you want those laws against trans people removed. Tell to remove them now.

"Natalie Cline shared photos from the Instagram account of a high school basketball team in the Granite School District, as well as a banner with some of the team’s players. She wrote the caption “girl’s basketball.” People who follow Cline’s Facebook account then accused one of the players of being transgender because of her appearance.

“Personal information as well as derogatory comments about the player were made by several commenters,” Cline posted on Facebook. “My deepest apologies for the negative attention my post drew to innocent students and their families.”

Kera Birkeland, R-Morgan, the Utah representative who sponsored the bill to ban transgender girls from playing in girls’ sports commented on Cline’s post. She said it’s horrible to attack a child based on their outward appearance. Birkeland then said there’s a process to make sure athletics are separated by sex. She also asked for people to stop saying the player is a boy."

Rep Birkeland, this is on you.

signed today and put in his statement about it, "We want public facilities that are safe and accommodating for everyone and this bill increases privacy protections for all," so I guess he doesn't consider trans people and people who appear different to not be part of "all."

On 's most recent episode about "Why Google is Shit Now", the reporters ask the question, can you imagine the internet without Google?

I can remember the internet before Google. It was the 90s, I was in college computer labs. My internet use was strictly hobbiest entertainment because doing schoolwork required actual programs. I only ever used email (rarely) for professors that accepted homework that way. Most didn't.

It was difficult to find things on the internet, so we relied on bulletin boards that collected direct links. If you had a lot of different places you liked to go online and you didn't have a computer of your own (like me in college computer labs), your best bet was to create your own website (I used Geocities) to collect your links into one place. Some people who spent a lot of time collecting and organizing lots of links on one subject/fandom became a resource that other people gravitated towards and contributed their own links to.

What's my point? Did I have a point?

I think Google's held on for a long time, but nothing lasts forever, especially not in tech. We'll find our way through it.

If you live in , please contact your Senator immediately and ask them to vote against .

    Why?

It should be enough that it empowers people to police each other in the bathroom. Don't like men in the women's room? Don't pass a law that encourages vigilatism in restrooms, locker rooms, etc.

    Why else?

This will hugely defund domestic violence, sexual violence, and victim service providers in Utah.

    How?

(the Violence Against Women Act) restricts Federal Funds to ensure everyone gets served. Yes, even cis men and LGBTQ people. So does (Victims of Crime Act). This is the main source of funding for these service providers.

Big Journalism has always treated the corruption that permeates Trump world as a not very interesting story.

Why? Because it has become routine, and one thing we know about journalism is that it normalizes everything Trump does if he does it repeatedly and brazenly. It's no longer "news" in the way they define the word.

That's why the craft barely noticed the bribes he's gotten from foreign interests and govts.
