@RL_Dane 244. How many get used every day? A very small set of those. A large selection of apps are “just in case”; small utilities, travel apps only used at certain times of the year, apps for energy companies or mobile carrier, etc.

It's reasonably tidy at the moment as I switched to Lineage with MicroG on this phone recently and started from scratch. Probably only use a handful of apps regularly. Many I installed from F-droid out of curiosity, or are little utilities that might come in handy one day.
@RL_Dane it seems rude not to try out all the great apps people have made available through F-droid!
I suspect 99% of my time on the phone is spent with just a few of the core apps, but I don't see why I wouldn't want other useful apps installed on here just for those rare occasions when I need them. Not as if I'm struggling for storage on this phone.
@RL_Dane@Eggfreckles I have 191, but prune aggressively. But I don’t think this is common for normal people: my wife doesn’t appear to have ever deleted an app from her phone or iPad, looking at the giant mess of both’s home screens.
Yeah, my settings page shows 151, but looking at just the icons of just the apps I installed, it's right around 100 -- and that's on a very lean ROM with almost no junk/undeletable apps.
@RL_Dane I definitely choose FOSS when available, but I'd still rather use a mobile app than the mobile version in a browser. I'm okay with being in the minority.
My friend keeps his phone as minimal as possible, and resets his phone fairly often.
