That's the confounding thing about republicans as a whole. Their stance on abortion in the wake of the Dobbs decision has already cost them in elections, and now they're all doubling down. But I'm glad they are. Makes it easier to get back the majority in the House and build in the Senate.
@Wileymiller@GottaLaff Gerrymandering and their Fox Bubble has built them into a trap. If they DON'T come across as extreme, they get primaried out of nearly anything. So they HAVE to appeal to the most extreme part of their party to get into a general, and that hurts them in the general. Every time. They made their (puritanical) bed, now they can lie in it!
