In the spring of 2024, a local comic shop asked Doctor Popular to illustrate a promotional t-shirt for an upcoming fundraiser. The original design, "Batman Devouring His Young", was rejected by the comic shop upon review.
@ashkendo to be honest, all of the ideas I pitched them were sort of terrible. I wasn't trying to be edgy, but all my original pitches were kind of... bad. It's fine, I've been wanting to draw this forever, so I finally finished it this morning just for shiggles.
@jetton I didn't mean to throw MC under the bus in this post, I was just phrasing it in a silly way. They thought the idea was cool, but it was a little gruesome for their audience/vibe.
