Taking a short Mastodon break. I'm tired of the culture of criticism here. Unlike Twitter, on Mastodon, it comes from those on the left who attack liberals for not meeting their purity tests. I've been attacked for wanting to help defeat Trump by those who don't like a Biden policy; for COVID-safe dining outside with heaters because that harms the environment; for traveling masked because some immunocompromised feel they can't. Stop attacking others; start being the change you want in the world.
@augieray there's a lot of people not getting that perfect is the enemy of the good on the left. Alienating allies because they don't meet some idealized version. My take is it's based on fear; people are afraid to "get in trouble" for not being woke enough so they lash out, worried they'll be accused of... whatever
@augieray I hear you and completely understand. The leftists are exhausting. Nothing is ever good enough.
Though I rarely leave a reply ( now I realize I should!) I will miss your posts because you help keep us informed.

I don't like this, at all. I absolutely get what you're saying (& going through) though, so please take care and return soon. Your voice is far to important to be outside the conversations we need.

@augieray Just wanted to send over a high five for the idea of heated outdoor dining! I am glad that some places do have outdoor seating, but I get irked when they put so little effort in making the experience comfortable (especially in cooler climates)!
